Cherry and curly walnut

Made a supply run today - cherry and curly walnut. I didn’t even know curly walnut was a thing, nor am I 100% sure it will bend well, but I’m looking forward to putting my hand to crafting some Shaker boxes and carriers out of these beautiful hardwoods. The very first Shaker box-style item I ever saw was a bent-wood carrier made from walnut, which set me down the path of learning about these traditional containers and eventually making my own.

These boards are rough and not particularly pretty now, but it’ll be fun to see what patterns pop out once the milling begins.
